Dr. Minju Sajith

MBBS, MD (Psychiatry), FRANZCP

I am a consultant psychiatrist with over 12 years of experience in mental health, specialising in child, adolescent, psychiatry. My journey began in India, where I completed my postgraduate training in Psychiatry at the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore.I worked there as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for three years, honing my clinical skills and deepening my commitment to early intervention and family-centered care. Following this, I moved to the UK to pursue further training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry . Since then, I have moved to Australia, where I have been working for almost four years as a consultant psychiatrist with the Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health  team at Grampians Health.

My clinical interests include early childhood mental health, neurodevelopmental conditions, behavioral disorders, mood, anxiety and psychotic  disorders. In my work, I value listening deeply, understanding the unique psychosocial and cultural background of each family, and working together to create meaningful change. I am particularly passionate about making mental health care accessible, collaborative, and compassionate—supporting children, young people, and their families through every stage of their journey.

Outside of work, I enjoy dancing and a bit of window shopping—simple joys that help me stay grounded and connected. I now live in Ballarat with my husband, and our two teenage boys. Being part of this vibrant, multicultural community has been a truly humbling experience. We’ve been warmly welcomed and have built many lasting friendships.I appreciate the slower pace of life here and the opportunity it gives me to be fully present—both as a parent and a professional.

I am available for consultations through this GP centre, and I look forward to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and their families in our region.
